From September 11th to 13th, 2024, PT Lautan Air Indonesia hosted the Watercare Academy, a comprehensive educational program designed to shape the next generation of water treatment consultants. This six-month program is integral to supporting the company’s transition from a manufacturer to a comprehensive, end-to-end water solution provider. It provided both sales and technical teams an in-depth understanding of water treatment processes.

The Watercare Academy, a collaborative effort across multiple departments within PT Lautan Air Indonesia, is structured into three chapters. The first chapter, focusing on Raw Water and Waste Water Treatment, provided participants with the essential knowledge needed for the company’s expanding role in delivering water solutions to residential and industrial clients. In addition to technical training, participants developed consultative sales and presentation skills, preparing them to engage effectively with clients and communicate complex concepts.

The Watercare Academy is a development program aimed at enhancing the skills and performance of sales, service, and technical personnel. It is designed to prepare these teams for future business requirements in the water sector by providing them with the mindset, skillset, and toolset necessary to become proficient water professionals. This program is not merely a prescriptive paperwork exercise or a one-time project with all the answers. Instead, it focuses on practical development and aims to improve performance and consistency. Participants have the opportunity to refine their skills, knowledge, and performance through the application of best practices.

The program emphasizes the development of a strong mindset, skillset, and toolset. Participants are encouraged to embrace the role of a Water Solutions provider, gaining a thorough understanding of unit operations and water treatment processes. They also become experts in solving water-related problems and solutions. The toolset aspect involves conducting assessments, surveys, and evaluations, alongside gaining comprehensive product and application knowledge. Throughout the program, trainees embody the Six Service Excellence spirit, which is a core part of Lautan Air Indonesia’s service level standards.

Led by seasoned managers from PT Lautan Air Indonesia, who bring extensive experience from managing diverse water treatment projects nationwide, the Academy offered valuable practical insights and deep technical expertise. The trainers not only shared their knowledge but also guided participants in applying these concepts to real-world scenarios. The hands-on experience covered process optimization and troubleshooting common issues in water and wastewater treatment, equipping participants with a comprehensive skill set.

The Watercare Academy aligns with PT Lautan Air Indonesia’s broader vision of fostering a better future through the provision of clean and safe water for all. As a subsidiary of Lautan Luas Tbk, a renowned chemical company in Indonesia, PT Lautan Air Indonesia has evolved into a specialized entity dedicated to end-to-end water solutions. This program embodies the company’s commitment to developing staff who will advance its mission.

Participants of the Watercare Academy can expect to be recognized as water professionals, contributing to sustainable business practices and gaining acknowledgment as trusted water solution partners.
